Enhancing the UDES Website with Seamless Traceability of Researchers Activity

The Solar Equipment Development Unit (UDES) is a company dedicated to the research and development of innovative solar technology. As a culmination of my 6-month internship with the company, I was tasked with creating a comprehensive website that would effectively showcase the work of UDES and provide a seamless platform for managing their searchers' patents and articles. In this project, I first delved into the business plan and requirements of UDES to create a website that truly represents their brand and vision. Using PHPMyAdmin, MySQL for the backend and HTML, CSS, JavaScript for the front-end, I crafted a custom-made website that not only boasts a visually appealing design created using Figma, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, but is also efficient and user-friendly. The integration with the backend system streamlined the management of searchers' patents and articles, improving the speed and organization of the data entry process and delivering a significantly improved user experience.

The new website's content management system (CMS) not only streamlines the previously manual data entry process but also results in a more efficient and organized system. This feature greatly enhances UDES's ability to manage their researcher's data, which has been expertly arranged into a hierarchical structure based on the leadership of each team and the contributions of the researchers themselves. The systematic arrangement ensures that patents and articles can be easily sorted and retrieved based on division, team, or individual researcher, keeping the information accessible and relevant at all times. The UDES website is now a sophisticated and visually appealing platform that accurately represents the company's cutting-edge work in the field of solar technology. My internship project not only provided me with hands-on experience in website design and development, but it also delivered a valuable tool to the UDES team.
